Welcome

The WJKA of Rhode Island offers training in traditional Shotokan Karate-Do. The school is affiliated with the World JKA Karate Association, a world-wide organization dedicated to encourage and assist students in their growth and understanding of karate

The aim of the WJKA of Rhode Island is to foster the true spirit of karate and develop local relations between all Shotokan Karate dojos in the Rhode Island area. We hold true to this aim by teaching karate in our clubs and by holding seminars and clinics.

The WJKA of Rhode Island does not teach sport karate. It teaches enhanced karate based on scientific research as a martial science and a way of life to ensure all members follow the seven principles of bushido.

Thank you for visiting the WJKA of Rhode Island,

Osu,

Frank Soltys (Chief Instructor)

Rick Legault (Senior Instructor)

The WJKA of Rhode Island aims to provide the highest and most advanced level of progressive Shotokan karate training that can be found in the state of Rhode Island. We strive to be a professional, politics-free organization; but at the same time, an internationally recognized and certified organization for both our students and instructors through standardized certification programs and examinations.
